System comparison

Different solutions or systems can often be considered for one ventilation problem. Comparative measurements between the alternatives can be useful here, which we are happy to carry out for you as part of LTG's engineering services. Comparative criteria for Comfort Air Technology applications are often energy consumption, economy, performance, acoustics or comfort. In Process Air Technology applications, the focus is also on flow uniformity, pressure losses in the system and via the components, electrical power consumption and total energy consumption. We support you with various approaches. For basic system comparisons, CFD simulations or model tests in the LTG Aktiengesellschaft laboratory are an efficient method for obtaining clear results in a short time. One of many examples of this is the comparison of throttle nozzles and perforated plates, which should be installed in extensive duct networks in order to distribute the prevailing pressure evenly. In this case, the aerodynamic and acoustic properties were considered. The result: perforated plates behind resistors ensured uniform pressure more quickly and were interesting for economic reasons. Throttle nozzles generally have more favorable acoustic properties. However, with sufficient care during installation and a suitable choice of perforated sheet types, a comparable acoustic quality can also be achieved. The LTG investigated the influence of the hole diameter and the installation situation and was able to use the results to make a reliable recommendation with defined parameters to be adhered to, on the basis of which a corresponding production program was developed. In the case of existing systems, we also offer on-site inspections while a system is in operation. We use modern mobile measurement technology to test, analyze and evaluate various systems in real-life situations. Based on the results, we draw up specific recommendations.
